Visit Sunshine Coast (VSC) has launched a new campaign through Ignite Travel Group to entice visitors to take their next break in the region.
The campaign aims to encourage bookings from the region’s key interstate markets of Greater Sydney and Melbourne to the Sunshine Coast and will run throughout March.
The multi-channel campaign will roll out across major news mastheads such as the Sunday Telegraph, Sydney Morning Herald, Melbourne Herald-Sun and Melbourne Sunday Age, targeted electronic newsletters and social media.
Working with Ignite Travel Group brands and partners: My Queensland, Flybuys Travel, NRMA and Flight Centre; the promotion will showcase high-value accommodation and attraction packages with stays of three, five or seven nights to boost visitor spend in the region.
VSC CEO Matt Stoeckel said the aim of the campaign was simple – to attract more visitors to the Sunshine Coast during our shoulder periods.
“This campaign targets our priority interstate markets with great holiday deals in the lead-up to Easter and after it in May and June,” Mr Stoeckel said.
“We know there is pent up demand for travel to the Sunshine Coast, particularly from New South Wales and Victoria. Interstate travel is back in 2022 and we look forward to welcoming more interstate visitors back to the region this year.
“With over 20 tourism businesses offering amazing deals, now is a great opportunity to take advantage of some great packages and book a holiday to the Sunshine Coast.”
Prior to COVID-19 and to the year ending March 2020, 264,000 residents from Melbourne and 263,000 residents from Sydney visited the Sunshine Coast.
