Every business wants to make a good impression online.

Having a strong digital presence on your website, social media and TripAdvisor is crucial, as it helps give your business the stamp of credibility it needs to elevate your appeal in the marketplace.

With our tourism industry only growing larger, there’s an increased need for education and training to build industry capability and enable operators to drive tourism demand, boosting local attractions and the businesses that depend on them.

This year Visit Sunshine Coast (VSC) is supporting regional tourism operators through our VSC Industry Development Program, which is focused on upskilling businesses in digital marketing.

The free program is open for all tourism business operators and includes a series of digital workshops covering: Web Basics, Be Bookable Online, Increase Your Website Traffic, Planning Your Online Strategy, Online Marketing for Events, Online Review and Reputation Management, Maximising Facebook and Maximising Instagram.

Businesses taking part will undergo a free Digital Health Check which will review your businesses’ current online presence and provide recommendations for your website, Google local presence, TripAdvisor and social media, as well as the opportunity for one-on-one coaching to provide personalised assistance in digital upscaling.

In addition, VSC will host a Global Ready workshop on 6 February that will provide tourism operators with the tools they need to equip their business for international visitors, and how to engage with overseas representatives to better promote their product.

VSC is partnering with Tourism Tribe and the Queensland Tourism Industry Council to facilitate the workshops, with the first – Web Basics – to be held on 5 February.
